The First Step

This may seems a bit simplistic, but the first step to solving our economic woes, as they may be, is to open up our own petroleum resources and step back and watch consumer confidence take off. That's what its really all about... confidence. Loosen up the endless EPA red tape for getting refineries built and the price of oil drop will drop like a rock. Instead our leaders sit around, wringing their hands wondering what to do.

We are being held hostage by our own, albeit misguided, sense of right & wrong.

Wake up!

Environmentalitis

OK, I'm sick. Sick and tired of paying through the nose for someone else's paranoia. I looked at the price of diesel today and its $0.70 per gallon higher than gas. This is stupid. I'm payin... we're all payin' a dollar or two more for our fuel and gas than we ought to be because too stinkin' many of you out there are buyin' into this man-made global warming myth. This is leading to much of the problems with our economy.

We have petroleum resources out the wazoo and we're not using them... the Gulf of Mexico, ANWAR, this coast line, that coast line, Canada, etc., etc. People are paying $5K, $10K, $20K or more for a hybrid car in the belief they are helping save the planet all while Al Gore lines his pockets with money lecturing these gullible lemmings and burning more petroleum in one year than all the Priuses put together. Let's follow the lead of the Weather Channel founder and sue his still, not-so-little butt off.

Our food prices are up because farmers are being duped into believing that converting their food crops into fuel will help save the planet all while they're "polluting" more than if we'd just burn petrol in the first place. Ethanol is not even a viable resource without the government subsidizing the whole idiotic thing.

The rest of the planet is pointing their finger at us and laughing on their way to the bank while we collectively buy into the whole man-made global warming myth we created and are now bankrupting ourselves trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist.

We've sat on our hands not building nuclear power plants for the last 30 years, hoping just conserving enough energy would meet growing demands. We've not built petroleum refineries because the environmental nuts keep telling us we need to be more green. We have stuck our heads in the ground thinking our energy needs will be magically met by conserving and cool new technology. Well guess what? While we had our heads in the sand progress has come up behind us and bit us in the butt. Hard. We've ignored our real needs and now we have a problem. We don't have a way to meet our own energy needs and OPEC has us by the short hairs.

Hey people. Its time to wake up and smell the ethanol. We're payin' way too much to solve a problem that isn't really a problem to start with. Tell the global warming "chicken littles" what they can do with their self-induced panic attack. I'm tired of payin' for it and you should be, too.
